Cambodia News, (Kampong Speu Province): Authorities said that one of a gang of three youths was arrested by the police for armed robbery and sent to the Police Inspectorate of Bor Seth District after stealing a motorcycle from another young man at 2:30am on October 9, 2021 on a paved road in Popul village, Svay Chap commune, Bor Seth district, Kampong Speu province.

According to the Bor Seth district police report, the arrested suspect was 19-year-old San Meng Hang, a resident of Serey Andet village, Kampong Speu province, and two fugitives have been identified as Sim Raksmey, 21 years old, and Vin, 25 years old, unknown address.

Police said that in front of the police, the suspect, San Meng Hang, confessed that he and his accomplices, armed with a pistol, rode a blue and white McBit motorcycle with license plate number 1R-3815 to the above point. The gang waited there to ambush anyone that came along. When they saw 17-year-old Yeun Kalin on his motorbike, they stopped him, threatening the victim with a pistol.



The specialized forces later arrested one young man and confiscated a recycled handgun and a motorcycle. During the interception operation, the district police also confiscated the victim's red Honda C125 motorcycle with license plate No. 1ID-7179.

The suspect is currently under interrogation by a professional police officer of the Bor Seth District Inspectorate to build a case to continue the proceedings, and the victim's motorcycle has been returned to the victim.

As for the other suspects in the robbery, the authorities are conducting a search operation to arrest them and hand them over to the prosecutor for legal action.
