Thinking of buying a Xiaomi phone?
Re: Thinking of buying a Xiaomi phone?
I've had/have 5 Xiaomi phones. Now I have a Realme 6 pro with 8GB RAM with additional 4GB VRAM and 128GB ROM and has been debloated and it is very fast. This phone also has a great camera.bossho wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 1:07 amI've had a Realme for a while now and it is kind of sucky in terms of page loading speed and I do pretty much hate it. Anyone else have a Realme review?Darkcel wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 9:26 pm Xiaomi, oppo and vivo are good cheap phones.
Whatever you do just don't get a realme, made that mistake and bought the kid and I both realmes. For whatever reason the internet is trash on it, I'll have a vivo or oppo right next to it with the same Cellcard plan and it just refuses to load shit.

Re: Thinking of buying a Xiaomi phone?
@beaker Ok, thanks for sharing this - I've attached my basic phone data but my question is how to "debloat" my phone and does that require getting it rooted. This phone also cost $275 but that was out in the province with no research done on pricing. I just needed a phone and bought it.
My chip is an 8 core MediaTek Helio G90 Ghz that clocks from 500 Mhz-2.05 Ghz. I am on Android 11 on this Realme RMX2151 with 8 gigs RAM and 128 gigs internal storage, I think its slow as molasses on a cold day so I m wondering about some tweaks that you may know about.

Re: Thinking of buying a Xiaomi phone?
Yes my phone has unlocked bootloader, rooted and custom recovery.
Being debloated speeds it up, less crap apps running in the background.
Turning off all the animation helps too, that can usually be done with developer options.
Here is a list of things I have frozen/debloated on my phone:
