“These factors, with ‘new normal’ adoption adhering to health preventive measures against Covid-19 spread, will boost Cambodia to reopen step by step activities of domestic tourism and international tourism, prioritising public health,” Mr HE said.
'Old normal' is a very long way off.
In the meantime, get ready for a fudge of reduced/partial quarantine and other tedious and pointless requirements, all of which will cost you dearly in financial and mental heath.

paying for things you don't want;
supplied by people that don't care;
for 'protection' that nobody gets.
So yes, more of the same same, just different.

Two major S’ville events could jumpstart international tourism: insiders
Hin Pisei | Publication date 04 October 2021 | 15:47 ICT
Preah Sihanouk province is set to host two major international tourism-related events in late 2021 and early 2022, which insiders expect to ignite new interest among new and repeat foreign holidaymakers into visiting the Kingdom and significantly raise tourist arrivals from near zero in the Covid era.
The provincial capital Sihanoukville is due to host the Southeast Asian Sailing Championship from December 12-17 and the ASEAN Tourism Forum from January 16-22.
Pacific Asia Travel Association (Pata) Cambodia chapter chairman Thourn Sinan told The Post on October 2 that the events could turn a new page on this chapter of Cambodian tourism, mired in a Covid swamp for nearly two years, and bring international travellers back to the Kingdom.

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
how can those things happen ? Assume quarantine would be reduced or gone for vaccinated travelers? I love it but there is a lot left out of this article or a lot to assume
Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on taking it

Yeah, not going to happen if they don't get rid of the quarantine. Most of the foreigners intended to attend these events probably are not going to stay in country for more than 2 weeks. They sure as fuck are not going to spend it in quarantine or their own dime.

bad bad choice for the sailing event and doubt they will get any boats in.
the Phuket kings cup runs Saturday, December 4, 2021 - Sunday, December 12, 2021 (34th year) a Truly international event
Not to mention by dec phuket will be open, ( well maybe still the sandbox) while Cambodia is still not allowing any tourists in

I saw this yesterday but it doesn't seem to have appeared anywhere on CEO.
How long before Cambodia follows suit?
https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-paci ... 021-09-27/
BANGKOK, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Thailand will waive its mandatory quarantine requirement in Bangkok and nine regions from Nov. 1 to vaccinated arrivals, authorities said on Monday, as the country tries to boost its immunisation rate and revive its battered tourism sector.
The regions include popular tourist areas Chiang Mai, Phangnga, Krabi, Hua Hin, Pattaya, and Cha-am, and follow the successful reopening of Phuket and Samui islands to vaccinated people in pilot schemes since July.
Anyone else seen this? Is Thailand really throwing the doors open to tourists with ZERO quarantine?

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
I think Pchum Ben is Cambodia's big experiment. With the mostly vaccinated population travelling freely around the country en masse, the consequences over the next few weeks will likely determine policy on opening up.
Wonder if they would go straight to VOA again, or force people to apply via embassies or e-visa for some initial period.

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
I think they are preparing to open up. They tweak the numbers, they are not so strict with "entertainment" venues anymore. It just matter of time they will lift restrictions. I just hope, I am feed up with all this shitty show around the world.
But if the tourist will have to go to any quarantine, even 7 days sandbox model, forget it.
