So reading reports Israel a global pioneer for mass vaccination at only 64% , are we that stupid?
Vaccines maybe doing the job of savings lives but it's not doing the job of stopping lockdowns

Lockdowns are political decisions not medical ones.

I'm surprised they allowed it to go ahead at all.John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 12:10 am I know it will be an unpopular move for the general population but it's a great initiative.

It’s not going to stop people paying their respects at wats. They’ll just do less than they normally do.
Can’t keep them away from those places. It’s in their blood.

Sister was up silly early (for her) and off she went. She’s not back yet so she’s either been arrested or she’s still “offering”.

not a good time to visit the wat
http://www.akp.gov.kh/post/detail/239926Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has called for understanding from his compatriots over the suspension of the Kan Ben and Pchum Ben Festivals in order to contain and prevent the COVID-19 spread, especially the fast-spreading Delta variant.
This is a difficult decision, but it will ensure the lives and health of each individual as well as the public health and guarantee that the number of COVID-19 infections and deaths in Cambodia is under control, he explained in a voice message today.
COVID-19 confirmed cases have been found in almost 50 percent of pagodas in Phnom Penh capital, he said, continuing that only in the first three days of the ongoing Kan Ben Festival, the number of infections at pagoda saw an increase, while the country’s daily cases rose to over 800 and the daily death cases to over 20

Will be going to the Wat tomorrow with missus. She’s already determined to cook offerings today with a shopping trip to the Khmer supermarket. And bringing one of my co-workers tomorrow with us.
Unless the flu lays her low first and changes plans.
Fingers crossed.

Noan Sereibot posts on Twitter:
141 COVID-19 cases have been found in pagodas in Phnom Penh following 8,975 people were tested.
But that's a very low positive test rate of just 1.6% as David Benaim notes.
I still think shutting it down was the right decision, just to be on the safe side.
