Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine safe and effective in children as young as three – Lancet study
Daniel Harries
CoronaVac, the COVID-19 jab developed in China by Sinovac Biotech, was found to be safe and effective in children and adolescents, according to a study published in leading medical journal The Lancet.
Two doses of the vaccine, given 28 days apart, produce a strong antibody response among those aged between three and 17.
Chinese researchers conducted a randomized, double-blind, controlled phase 1/2 clinical trial in Zanhuang County, China. The vaccine was given to more than 500 healthy children and adolescents, 96 percent of whom developed Sars-CoV-2 antibodies.

Is Cambodia doing beta testing for SinoVac on Cambodian kids? The article mentions both Lancet Medical Journal and Chinese researchers on different paragraphs. Lancet report article below points right back to the data from Chinese researchers. On the other hand, is it a study on 500 kids from the same country good enough? Just a comparison, AZ, Pfizer, Moderna and J&J covid vaccine studies each included 10 of thousands of participants and across multiple countries/multiple continents before requested for emergency use.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 4:33 pm

The Lancet is a respected and peer reviewed medical journal.
Safety and immunogenicity of an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine, BBIBP-CorV, in people younger than 18 years: a randomised, double-blind, controlled, phase 1/2 trial
Prof ShengLi Xia
YunTao Zhang, PhD
YanXia Wang, BSc
Hui Wang, BSc
YunKai Yang, BSc
Prof George Fu Gao, PhD
Published:September 15, 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1016/S1473-3099(21)00462-X
Interpretation
The inactivated COVID-19 vaccine BBIBP-CorV is safe and well tolerated at all tested dose levels in participants aged 3–17 years. BBIBP-CorV also elicited robust humoral responses against SARS-CoV-2 infection after two doses. Our findings support the use of a 4 μg dose and two-shot regimen BBIBP-CorV in phase 3 trials in the population younger than 18 years to further ascertain its safety and protection efficacy against COVID-19.

Ignoring "all" as hyperbole....I'm sure more recent data is or will be available but 99.5 percent of Covid deaths in Texas February-July were among unvaccinated people. I'd put getting vaccinated in the being responsible category. I'm sure family members of the deceased , or those made ill by them, would see it that way.clutchcargo wrote:Care to tell us how covid deaths in Texas could all of been preventable with responsible behaviour?newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 9:53 pm Missus‘ village will be under quarantine starting tomorrow.

Re: Information on Coronavirus / COVID-19 in Cambodia (Latest Updates April 2021)
Have there been any updates on the Delta variant since September 11 when it stood at 3731?
It was Delta Delta Delta and the KT couldn't get enough of it, and then it all went very quiet. Check out the link with the Delta search, there is no data after 11th, just two articles about the effect of Delta in Asia Pacific and a piece on nonsense about how the Phnom Penh Port's profits are up 17% since August 2020, "in spite of the Delta variant".
Since then it's been silence.
Has it been eradicated clinically or just eradicated from the media?

In other countries Delta overtook all the other strains, I don't see why it should be any different in Cambodia.Doc67 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 10:51 am Have there been any updates on the Delta variant since September 11 when it stood at 3731?

If it's the case, why mention it? Does it really matter? It is what it is, and from the published numbers it seems the SINO's offer a certain layer of protection, because if there really would have been exponential growth we should have noticed by now, shouldn't we?

Well they started it! I'm just pointing out their sudden and complete silence of the issue. It's my first experience of a muzzled and controlled national media.Kammekor wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:02 amIn other countries Delta overtook all the other strains, I don't see why it should be any different in Cambodia.Doc67 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 10:51 am Have there been any updates on the Delta variant since September 11 when it stood at 3731?

It make me think there is no point listening to any news item in this country, it's all irrelevant trivia, government self promotion or made up bollocks.

The KT has updated delta figures as of this morning. Something near 6,000 in total. You can draw your own conclusions about accuracy, but here’s a link to the update.
