A VN PA soldier was a regular at my old haunt ten years ago. He wasn't the brightest and was forced to fight against KR. He was only 17 at the time and clearly had some PTS from a) what he saw, and b) being taken advantage of like that.
He told me how he was helicoptered in and out during nightfall. I didn't ask about the atrocities he witnessed.
He lived the entirety of his life as a poor cyclo driver. He was the skinniest thing I ever saw - very poor diet, and died maybe five years ago in his mid-fifties of pneumonia or something similar.
