Is length of Cambodia Visa given depend of expat status ?

Post by Samouth »

My coworker is an Indian. He is a global monitoring and evaluation coordinator in the NGO that i am working with. He said, he only has been granted for 1 years visa no more than this, while my other coworker who is Filipino and her position is Operation Manager. She has been granted only 6 months. Note they don't have to pay for their visa extension, as they are working in NGO.

Is there any differences for those who are not working with government or NGO?

I'm not sure about NGO visas, but they can both easily get regular visas for about $285 a year.

It's multiple entry visa and (as of now) they can extend it as many times as they want.

Don't quote me, but this is what I was told by a friend who is the country manager for a large NGO operating in Cambodia...

If they're working for an NGO then they should have a B-Type Visa. The length of validity is determined on the length of their contract, up to 12 months renewable. If they cease employment with the NGO before the expiry date of their B visa, then the visa becomes invalid and they must exit and re-enter on a new visa. I understand that it is the responsibility of the NGO to apply for the NGO employees' visa before they enter the country or commence employment.

I think the width of the visa is more important than the length.
