Imagine you’re a normal person. The year is 2016. Rightly or wrongly, you believe most of what you see in the media. You believe polls are broadly reflective of public opinion. You believe doctors and scientists are trustworthy and independent. You’re a decent, reasonable person who follows the rules and trusts the authorities.

I came across it by a technique I have formed sort of by accident.
I am subscribed to a reasonable number of YouTube commentators who cover a wide range of current topics.
I don’t actually watch their videos, but I do watch enough to see the article or news story they are commenting on. Not many actually contain the link to the article they are “commenting” on but they are not hard to find.
I can then go read the original article without their opinions affecting my reading and interpretation of the article or story.
Another source is the News Feed on Opera… but I am not sure if their algorithms are as bad Google in limiting what is shown.
