Cambodia News (Kandal Province): On August 25, 2021, at 11:55 am in Prek Samrong village, Sangkat Takhmao, a 19-year-old woman named Heng Srey, living in Leuk Daek district, was arrested for kidnapping an 11-year-old girl and blackmailing the girl's family for 1500USD, and stealing a motorbike from the victim's aunt.

Before the incident, the suspect befriended one of the victim's aunts, Ry Roun, when they worked together in a construction site in the Borey Romdoul housing area. Then Ry Roun introduced the suspect to her sister, Ry Rey on August 20.
The suspect pretended to be friendly and asked to visit the victims' house on August 21. Once the suspect got there, she asked to borrow the victims' motorbike, a Honda Dream (Kandal 1AL-8770), to go to the bank, and also asked to take the 11-year-old girl with her.

But the suspect's whole story was a bunch of lies; the suspect left the victims' house with the motobike and the little girl, but then she kidnapped the little girl, stole the motorbike, and blackmailed the family for 1500USD.
The family, who were frightened for the girl's safety, reported the event to the police and this led to the suspect's arrest behind the Prek Samrong pagoda. Both the kidnapped victim and the motorbike were safely recovered, and the suspect is being held in custody awaiting trial.
