Sick bitch (allegedly) did it. Child murderers get portrayed differently in the media. When a father kills his children he's (correctly) portrayed as a callous monster. When a mother does it, it's "a cry for help" and "another victim of depression/mental illness"

that's true. also juries rule so, for some not really known reason.
in the eye of the public, a mother seems more eligible to harm her children.
or perhaps there is simply more understanding/empathy when they run crazy over children?

I think psychologists then say:

- the women killed, because she felt responsibility and didn't want/couldn't leave the children back (alone) in this horrible world. extended suicide.

- with men, the reason is often revenge. the wish to inflict pain on/destroy the mother.

but of 8 children, up to the age of 15, some should have managed to escape the massacre - if it wasn't planned (murder)...

she may have had a prepared, thought-through plan to do this.
