More Chinese Takeover in Sihanoukville

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Very selective editing, use of camera angles, and drone shots from afar. I am sure you could shoot a video like this to show taht Downtown Mogadishu is up and coming as well and a great investment opportunity.

Well then you can say the same about Phnom Penh, eh? What else is there?

The reason for asking is that I belive I can get a B Visa by visiting Sihanoukville for work purposes. But I do not want to visit a building site. I am hoping that december will be a better month to visit KOW and I am now gearing towards that goal.

With a B visa I can stay at a Q hotel by choice in SW?

Unless you work for an intergovernmental organization there's no chance of you getting a B-class visa.
B-class visa. The B-class visa is for employees of organizations that are in Cambodia at the government’s invitation,
such as the United Nations or World Health Organization, and need to be organized in advance by the employer.

Good god. I couldn’t listen to her all the way through!
The first voice is slightly worse than the second, plus she repeats herself a lot and shows the same pictures/video.

Old news now.

I can't see any way to improve it now.
It's completely rooted.
Maybe a tier-6 Sino ghost city forever.

Yes, I have lived in the capital for a decade or so. My point was that if you consider Sihanoukville only have casinos and Chinese restaurants, then you probably think Phnom Penh also only have those as well? Sihanoukville have probably the best Japanese restaurant in the country and multiple great Indonesian, Filipino, Indian and Malay restaurants too. Few western places popped out in last 6 months as well. Of course you have the beaches, that not many city in Cambodia have etc. Also climate that is nicer than SR (and PP) climate for example thanks to the breeze from the sea.

I have said it before and I still firmly believe that by 2030 Sihanoukville will be the biggest tourist city in Cambodia.

A neutron bomb may do the trick (though much of the city already looks like it's already been hit by one).

That sounds like a line from a realtor in a busted market.
Or Q-Anon's predictions of Trump's return.
Presumably in time for you to see some ROI.
