Cyclo Inferno
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On August 5, 2021, in Sangkat Mettapheap, Khan 7Makara, at a narrow street behind the office of the Council of Ministers, an uncontrollable fire engulfed numerous cyclo chariots, which were parked there for the night.
Before the fire broke out, local people nearby saw that there were sparks coming out from the electric cables caused by short-circuits, and all of a sudden, the cyclo chariots went up in flames. The residents helped put out most of the flames, and with help from the authorities they prevented the spread to the neighboring houses. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
However, most of the cyclo drivers are elderly, and all of them are poor and have been suffering from lack of business recently, due to the coronavirus epidemic among other factors. This fire will be a heavy blow to those who lost their cyclo, which is their livelihood, and is often their only habitat.

Re: Cyclo Inferno
Very sad. I always feel for the cyclo drivers with modernisation and lately with covid.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Re: Cyclo Inferno
Cyclos have been struggling for quite a while, since long before COVID. Many Cyclos don't actually own their own vehicles. This place looks like one of the depots they hire the cyclos out from.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Cyclo Inferno
Does anyone know of an NGO that deals with Cyclos? I'd like to donate some funds.
