Thai Trafficker Abandons Cambodian Mother and Daughter in Landmine Zone at Border

Cambodia News (Banteay Mean Chey Province): On August 2, 2021, a mother and her young daughter were abandoned by a scammer from the Rong Klue market in Thailand when they tried to cross the border into Cambodia.

According to the victims, they wanted to escape from the Thai market (Rong Klue) and they paid the unidentified scammer to help get them across the border. Unfortunately, the two were scammed and got dumped at the landmine zone.
After realizing that the area was dangerous, they panicked and ran, causing the mother to tripped into a ditch and break her right ankle.

Fortunately, the Cambodian border police were patrolling around the area and spotted the two, who were then rescued, and the mother was being treated after she was tested positive for Covid-19, on top of her broken ankle.

Yes, I agree on the reasonable reaction to run around in a minefield, sensible and will cut down on expenses of sniffer rats. But there you go, one more less Cambodian with a possitive result to having Covid19 is released back too their own country.
