Cambodian Customs Seize Buffalo Meat from India

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Buffalos aren't factory farmed, they graze on open ground. So it's more to do with the age of the animal and how the meat is processed. 8)

Same as the dried beef probably.
You can get a real taste for it. I once averaged about 1.5 meals/day of just dried beef and rice, quite happily, on a 30 day storm season circumnavigation of the lake one June.
My wife slowly fries it on a low heat, in the pan with the oil from cold.
The idea is not to cook it - but to get some oil into it, and to release some fabulous flavours.
'Kept five waterlogged people in a tiny wooden boat happy and hard working for a month.

Best place in the country to buy for qual - Psar Thmei
same price as the poorer qual stuff you buy in regional markets or on the roadside.

Yum, take me back.

Illegal export from India -> cows are sacred
What could go wrong if relying on Kow customs on top of that ?
Please bring the lost enveloppe to the nearest Custom's office, if you happen to find one around Kampong Speu...It might help.
Ah, no. Too late. Burnt.
Well, maybe next shipment then.

India has a large and respected buffalo beef export industry as cows (bos indicos) are not killed for meat.
It is known in the trade as Indian Beef.
LSH sell it.

Why don't they just spray the packaging with alcohol? Like we have to do every time we go into a shop? Or is that a load of bollocks as well?

Also, 3 months frozen already (April 2021) and with a long journey still to go, until it ends up as burger mince and on your plate. Yummy...
