Re: Huge Shiva Linga Altar
That is a huge linga altar without a doubt. On par and size I would think of the on at Badavilinga Temple at Hampi is dedicated to Lord Shiva, House the largest monolithic Shiva Linga in Karnataka.
For a large Linga there is the one at the Bhojeshwar Temple is situated at Bhojpur near to river Betwa in Raisen District of Madhya Pradesh. hojeswar shiva temple is the major attraction of city with 5.5 m (18 ft) tall Shiva lingum, one of the largest in India.
I remember seeing some Linga's still being used at the Temples of India, Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple was a most spectacular visit.
