Desperate Woman Caught Stealing Baby Formula to Feed Sick Granny
Cambodia News (Kandal Province): On July 23, 2021, at 10:30 am, a 27-year-old woman, Ya Srey Da who lives in Phsar Samaki village, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, was arrested for stealing a can of baby formula in Lucky Mall for the third time.
In the first two incidents, the mall owner let the woman go out of pity and made her sign a promise not to steal again. So when the woman was caught stealing for the third time, the mall personnel called the police on her. After being interrogated by the police, she confessed that she stole the baby formula for her 63-year-old poor and sick grandmother, who is not able to eat anything other than soft food.
The suspect is now being held in custody awaiting trial.

Re: Desperate Woman Caught Stealing Baby Formula to Feed Sick Granny
But why pay for handheld blender and food when you can steal for free?paul.smith wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 3:52 pm This is a very strange story a blender hand held is about $10 and then you can feed granny anything/

Well I guess that will be the big question. It could also be a tragic story of poverty.

It's hard to judge this woman since we don't know anything more than the OP. Is she desperate with a sick grandma, or does she make a habit of shop-lifting baby formula to resell it ? There is a big black market for baby formula because it's expensive.
Btw, I thought that the mall security gave her a good get-out-of-jail-free-card after she was busted for shop-lifting baby formula twice. That was good of them, and that was her chance to think about finding an alternative means to feed her grandma (if she exists).

I agree - the mall store handled it with class and respect. Unfortunately, after several times being caught, some people aren't any longer deserving of respect if found violating laws again. She should consider herself lucky for not getting her ass kicked inside and out.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 7:36 pm It's hard to judge this woman since we don't know anything more than the OP. So for this reason, I don't think it's too difficult to judge her at all. She'd be more honorable selling herself like everyone else and using the money to buy whatever is needed.
Taking other's property without consent is flat-out wrong, and she knows it, but just doesn't give a flying fuck.
