Phnom Penh Fire Allegedly Started by Homeless Copper Collectors
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): A bush fire that broke out on July 21, 2021, at 1:20 am in Toul Roka 2 village, Sangkat Chak Angre Krom, Khan Mean Chey, was allegedly caused by a bunch of homeless people who were burning electric cables to salvage the copper wire, according to villagers living nearby.
The villagers failed to control the fire until the firefighters arrived and put it out. Fortunately, the villagers' homes were not affected and nobody was injured.
