Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

To all those keyboard warrior judges here, in Ratanakiri it has been raining for days so maybe these kids were caught by a flood.
It doesn't justify grandfather's ignorance but shit happens in the boonies, you know. Unless you're on your toes all the time.
Classic, make excuses. If it's been raining so much, all the more reason to keep an eye on them!
Aren't elderly people supposed to be wiser? What ever happened to just saying "No"?
No excuses, but nobody really knows what happened, or knows the local situation. Guess that's what wanted to say.
Wrong again. We DO know what happened.
I don't know what happened. I know that bridge, I know that river, I know that spot. Generally it's a safe, shallow, place for a group of kids to play.
Something must have gone terribly wrong. Maybe Vietnam temporarily opened the flood gates of a dam because of the rains without warning, I don't know.
Is grandpa in the wrong? He clearly is. But grandpa most probably knew that place better than all of us together.
To just put it to ignorance 100% from our sofa's behind the screen without knowing what really happened seems shortsighted to me.
