As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): It has been reported that an Italian male national named Antonio Vendramin, aged 79, died in Phnom Penh Royal Hospital on July 12, 2021, at 10:40 pm. The deceased worked and lived as Catholic missionary on Street 6, Tropang village, Sangkat Kork Khlang, Khan Sen Sok.
According to the victim's friend and colleague, Tavola Ganluamara, also an Italian national, they had worked together since 2018 and on June 4, 2021, the victim became ill and was admitted to the Central Hospital in Sangkat Phsar Thmey 3, Khan Daun Penh. On June 8, 2021, he was transferred to Phnom Penh Royal Hospital and the doctors found that he had been suffering from heart and lung diseases, which were being treated and looked after, however, his condition deteriorated day by day. Unfortunately, he passed away at 10:40 pm on 12 July.

The police performed an autopsy at the hospital, where they determined that the victim died from the blood poison caused by the bacteria that infected his lung, which was not from Covid-19. His body was transferred to Khmer-Soviet Hospital.

RIP, and condolences to those who knew the deceased.
