Man Arrested for Killing Two Garbage Workers

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A man named Neth Nisa, who recklessly drove a car which hit and killed two garbage collectors, and seriously injured another, was sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court at 2:00 pm on July 12, 2021.

The Office of Road Traffic Police continued its proceedings and action on a hit and run accident which occurred on July 12, 2021 at 2:40am in front of Hattha Bank along Russian Federation Boulevard, in Por Sen Chey District. The car driver hit three garbage workers, killing two of them, before he fled from the scene. He was found by police later that day.

On the afternoon of July 12, 2021, at 2:00pm, the Road Traffic Police Office prepared a case file and sent the perpetrator, Neth Nisa, male, homemaker, to continue legal proceedings.

UPDATE: Teenager arrested for Phnom Penh ‘hit and run’ that killed two
July 12, 2021
A teenager who stole his parent’s car while on a drunken ‘joyride’ has been detained by Phnom Penh Police in connection with the deaths of 2 garbage collectors in a hit and run incident this morning.

The tragedy occurred on Russian Federation Boulevard, in front of Pochentong Market in Sangkat Kakap I, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh.

The garbage collectors were working on Russian Federation Boulevard, when a white CRV hit them head first, instantly killing 2 of the workers and seriously injuring another.

The occupants of the car then attempted to flee from the scene – first by driving away and then by foot.
