15Yo Boy Drowns Playing in Quarry Swimming Hole

Because he could not swim, a teenage boy died from drowning yesterday when he went to play in a waterlogged quarry with some friends.

On July 10, 2021 yesterday, there were three teenagers who went to play in the water at the ground pit of Bosslef Village, Krek Commune, Tbongkmum Province, Tbong Khmom Province. A 15-year-old boy drowned because he stepped into deep water and he could not swim.
According to the news from the police, the victim is named Noeun Viphat, a 15-year-old who was living in Krak Tbong village, Krek commune.

Before the fatal accident, the 3 friends went to swim there, but Noeun Viphat slipped into a hole of deep water and drowned. None of the others could swim to save him. RIP.

That photo looks like a small puddle but he and his friends made a tragic mistake.

Quarry's are notoriously deceptive. It's hard to find a ledge or finger hold if you fall in at the wrong spots. The granite quarry I used to swim at as a teen was almost 12 story's deep and deaths were common. Especially with those who did not know the waters well.

How about the authorities or the estate owner's put a fence around it? Perhaps erect a graphic signboard warning others.
