Another Private Hospitals Authorised for COVID-19 Treatment
AKP Phnom Penh, July 05, 2021 --

Another private hospital in Phnom Penh has just obtained the green light from the Ministry of Health to examine, care and treat COVID-19 patients.

The newly-authorised hospital for COVID-19 treatment is Chbar Ampov Polyclinic located on National Road 1 in Sangkat Chbar Ampov 1, Khan Chbar Ampov, according to the ministry’s official announcement released this morning.

This is the fourth private hospital to be granted the right. The other three are Central, Royal Phnom Penh, and Visalsok Poly Clinic.

According to the ministry, the hospitals considered qualified for the treatment of coronavirus patients are those with adequate location and parking, ambulances with enough medical equipment, appropriate and safe patient rooms, and emergency room with adequate medical materials.

They are also required to have enough trained medical doctors and staff, a laboratory, adequate medical equipment and materials, infection prevention and control management system in accordance with the ministry’s instructions and medical waste management system, and to give regular and timely report to the Ministry of Health.

COVID-19: 896 New Cases; Tally 55,187
AKP Phnom Penh, July 05, 2021 --

Cambodia’s daily cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) dropped a little bit to 896 this morning; the tally stood at 55,187.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, 210 of the new infections are imported, and the rest are locally transmitted cases connected to the Feb. 20 Community Event.

At the same time, 646 more patients have successfully recovered; the total cured patients in the Kingdom rose to 47,386.

Besides, 28 more deaths were registered; bringing the death toll to 748.

Another 1 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine arrive in Cambodia tomorrow

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health, Ms. Youk Sambath, said that another 1 million doses of Sinofam vaccine ordered from the Chinese government will be delivered to Cambodia on July 6, 2021, at around 10 am tomorrow.

The arrival of another 1 million doses of vaccines will give Cambodia a total of more than 12 million doses of vaccines, including 4.2 million doses of Sinopharm, 7.5 million doses of Sinavak vaccine, and 324,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine obtained through the COVAX project, run by the World Health Organization.
The vaccination team is currently in the process of vaccinating people in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Svay Rieng, Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum, Banteay Meanchey and Takeo.

According to Prime Minister Samdech Techo HE, the country expects to receive up to 5 million doses of Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines this month and 4 million others in August.

The Premier expressed his optimism that Cambodia can achieve its goal of vaccinating 10 million adult people by November this year.

COVID-19: Tally Surges to Over 57,000 with Nearly 1,000 New Infections
AKP Phnom Penh, July 07, 2021 --
The total confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia jumped to 57,103 this morning with the detection of 981 new infections.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, of the new cases, 265 are imported, and the rest are community cases linked to the Feb. 20 outbreak.

At the same time, 934 more patients have successfully been cured; bringing the total recovered cases in the Kingdom to 48,974.

Besides, the death toll rose to 798 after 19 new deaths were registered.

Olympic Market Management Committee calls for all vendors and anyone who conducts business at and around the market to be tested for Covid-19

On the morning of July 7, the Olympic Market Management Committee urged all the people who conduct business in and around the market who have not been tested to have their Covid-19 test.

The beginning of the testing for vendors and other people involved in the outbreak began on July 2 and is still ongoing. From July 2 until July 6, around 3,000 people went to be tested and of that number 383 people were found to be positive with the virus. This is according to a report from the President of the Olympic Market Committee, Loy Seang, this morning, July 7.

Activities in the market is banned until July 16, according to the decision of the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration. The decision was reached after the rise in cases in connection to the outbreak.

Seang said that once the market reopens, any vendor or worker who has not gone to have themselves tested will not be allowed to enter the market.

insane. 12.7% positive rate. I suspect its much worse than that and after a year of successfully keeping this at bay, the victory is turning into a full blown defeat. The borders arent going to open anytime soon with news like this

With over 200 imported cases everyday it seems the borders are wide open already...
