Bum Gun Culture

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Let me help you out there - they've been under other people's bums.

It's not the 'under' that I'm worried about.

I've been telling myself I wasn't going to ask this on a public forum, but now seems a good time. What's the go with the bum gun? Logistically, how is it done so that you're not spraying a jet of crappy water either all over your butt or (for blokes and sheblokes) into your scrotum?

I'm not sure I want to think that through...

I've become so addicted to the guns after 20 years coming/living here in SE Asia that I have done the following "technique" back in "the world". I take any container with me into the toilet and then fill it with water and Presto! You have your own washing "apparatus".

I haven't even touched TP in nearly 20 years. Has it changed any?

Back home if the people whom I shook hands with knew my little trick in the loo I might get beat up...here I wash my hands frequently - very frequently. A specialist in overseas ailments (3rd world) said that much more than contaminated food and drink - your own hands are your worst enemy. No one can be fully aware at all times when they touch their own face. Your hands are like petri dishes for bacteria and if they get near your mouth, eyes or nose - big trouble!

I rarely get sick here (maybe once every 4-5 years), although I do watch what I eat I still eat at many different places (I eat out almost every night). Who knows why really? But I credit that doctor for describing an obvious problem - your own dirty, stinky, filthy hands. And shaking other people's hands? Uh...hugs are better...

Wash up kids!!

Chalk it up to one of the foibles of being human. You never know what kind of water pressure you might get, so such things are always in your control. It's a crap shoot, as they say. :hattip:

I installed one in my master bath here in San Francisco. Just straight, cold water, but you get used to it, even in the cold of winter. Water pressure is about ten times stronger here too. Bracing.

Doesn't take that long to get used to. Just keep telling yourself "It's my bum, and I won't get sick from my own faeces".
Don't forget to wash your hands and keep your nails trimmed!

I have no idea how to even use the scooper. I just look at it like it came from a UFO... I never tried. Wtf do you do? Just splash your ass?
The cedar roasted asparagus has good chew. I don't know how to enjoy it, so I'll Instagram it instead.
