COVID warning on Phnom Penh bar after infected partygoers partied ‘without masks’

A popular Russian Market bar is the subject of an official COVID warning after revelations that partygoers, infected with COVID, attended an event there without wearing facemasks.

Authorities are warning patrons of Le Petanque bar in Sangkat Toul Tom Poung 1, Khan Chamkarmorn to self-isolate, watch for symptoms, and have a Covid-19 test.

The move comes after authorities discovered that people who were tested positive with Covid-19 went to a party at at the bar on June 12 at 9 p.m. and stayed until 1:30 a.m. of the next day.

It is reported that revellers were not wearing masks and did not observe social distancing.

There has been concern over alleged widespread flouting of the governments’ COVID-19 rules in the Russian Market area of Phnom Penh – an area popular with young expats.

Australia is possibly the worst example of effectively dealing with the pandemic with the quarantine hotels being the prime source of spreading now.
Hardly any vax has happened.

USA has a relatively high vax rate and very low rate of new infections, but a "certain segment" of the population has taken on this issue along with some other absurd cultish notions as articles of faith.

Presumably the bulk of new infections we are seeing here now are the delta variant, so caution is still advisable even for vaccinated people.
