Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Bangkok, 18 June, 2021 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to confirm Thailand’s readiness to reopen to vaccinated foreign tourists without quarantine requirements
I am sure that will work out well.

Chonburi (including Pattaya) just recorded its highest positive infection rate during this current wave since early April, 175 new confirmed cases. Of course, the possies are almost entirely in the migrant worker dormitories of industrial estates.

Interestingly, one case was found of a person (=girl likely) working in a bar. Pattaya News reported: "Online bars, Soi 6, Bang Lamung District, 1 person." I am guessing this means the infamous Pattaya Soi 6. "Online bar" involves girls dancing or chatting up guys via TV cams from a bar. Poor desperate guys on the other side of the planet can buy them a drink. <<< This is what I've read.

June was going reasonably well until the last three days of triple-digit cases.

Yes, congrats Prayut for ignoring the hi-so ignition source for this latest monster wave, which has killed hundreds.

Chonburi just blew away the daily record for this wave of infections that began in April, recording 335 positive confirmed cases. Almost all are in the industrial and market clusters. Whereas Banglamung (Pattaya) posted only 7 cases.
