Case of violence! [WARNING: Some accident photos at the scene]

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 8:10 pm on June 1, 2021, there was a case of a young man riding a motorcycle who died in an accident as he was chased by two men on a motorbike with a machete along National Road 2 in Chak Angre Leu commune, Meanchey district, Phnom Penh.
The victim was identified as Kin Sokhoeun, male, 21 years old, goldsmith, resides in Samaki Village, Khan Russey Keo. The name of his woman passenger has not been released.

Before this incident, the victim and his girlfriend were riding a pink and white Suzuki Kinetic motorcycle, with license plate Phnom Penh 1GN-2249, along National Road 2 from south to north. Suddenly, two men on a motorcycle, armed with a machete, chased after the couple. The victim fought them off, and was attempting to get away on the motorbike, when he hit a metal barrier, causing him to fall, severely injuring his head and knocking his girlfriend unconscious.


Then the two men who were chasing the victim stopped the motorcycle, put the woman on their motorcycle, and fled the accident scene. Meanwhile the male victim of the attack passed away before an ambulance arrived to take him to hospital. Police revealed that he had been stabbed.

Police say that the attack was a question of jealousy between two men over the girl. The victim had been in a relationship with his girlfriend for more than three years and later broke up with her, but they met up that evening, and the new boyfriend found out and became jealous. After the incident, the police took the evidence and kept it at the Meanchey District Police Inspectorate to find the perpetrators and take legal action.
