Thieves Stole Cases of (GANZBERG) Beer to Buy Drugs

Cambodia News (Kandal): Angsnoul police arrested two suspects who stole 30 cases of beer on May 25, 2021, at 3:20 am, in Tropeang Chuneang village, Angsnoul district, Kandal. The victim was identified as a 27-year-old woman, Vong Seyla, owner of a small drink shop. The woman used to sell drinks in the village, but during the Covid-19 spread and the ban on alcohol sales, she closed up her shop temporarily.

The arrested suspects were Sang Sophat, 17 years old, and So Meng, 17 years old. Another suspect named Tony, 24 years old, ran away to escape. Police immediately confiscated the following stolen goods as evidence: a speaker and 6 cases of beer (4 cases of GANZBERG beer and 2 cases of CAMBODIA beer).

On May 26, 2021, at 9:40 am, the victim went to check on her shop, and she realized that 30 cases of beer and a speaker had been stolen. Then, she filed a complaint at the police station.
On May 27, 2021, the police arrested two suspects with the evidence. The suspect named Sang Sophat confessed he and his gang broke into the victim's shop and stole 30 cases of beer and a speaker. But, by the time they were arrested, they had sold most of the beer to get money to buy drugs.
The police prepared the case following the legal procedure.
