Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey province): After Thai soldiers detained 14 illegal Cambodian migrants who were trying to cross into Thailand to find work on construction sites in Chhun Borey and Bangkok province, they returned the migrants to the Cambodian border guards today. The migrants will all be tested for Covid-19.

Cambodia News,(Pailin): On May 27, 2021, a male broker was sent to the provincial court after he was arrested for taking five workers across the border to work illegally in Thailand .
The broker is named Ny Van Det, alias Thou, 32 years old, living in Phsar Prom Cheung village, Stung Karch commune, Sala Krao district, Pailin province. In addition to arresting the above broker, the target security forces also arrested the five Cambodian workers
According to the police, on May 23, 2021, near the Ochheukrom checkpoint, they crossed the border into Thai territory, were arrested by Thai soldiers, and were then handed over to the Cambodian armed forces until they were sent to court this morning, May 27, 2021.

Cambodia News, (Poipet City): A report from Thailand says that on the night of May 30, 2021, Thai authorities detained seven Cambodian workers illegally crossing the border into Thailand from Ta Preah Ya district in Cambodia.
According to the interrogation, the migrant workers were going to work in construction in Chak Chheng Sao province, Thailand, after they contacted a Cambodian broker and agreed to pay 6,000 baht per person after reaching the destination.
They will be deported to Cambodia. All workers must be brought in for questioning and will undergo a medical examination and quarantine measures.

Ever since the outbreak of Covid-19 in Thailand’s Samut Sakhon province on December 3 last year, a total of 80,853 migrant workers have returned home until mid-June this year.

According to the administrative offices of these provinces, they had almost successfully handled ( LOL ) all the migrant workers at the borders, quarantined them as per the 14-day mandatory directive and only released them from the centres after they were tested negative for the coronavirus.

Cambodia News (Battambang): On June 20, 2021, in Sangke village, Beung Beng commune, Malai district, Banteay Mean Chey province, 16 illegal immigrants attempted to cross the border to Thailand led by an illegal agent; however, they were arrested and detained by the border police for rehabilitation and sent back home.
The victims were 10 women and 6 men who were led astray by an unidentified agent, who escaped and is being searched for by the police.

On Both Sides Now: Thai and Khmer Workers Arrested Crossing Thai-Cambodian Border
Cambodia News (Banteay Mean Chey Province): Arrests were made in two separate incidents, when on June 20, 2021, at 11:12pm, 9 Thai immigrants were detained when they attempted to cross into Cambodia illegally, and on 21 June, at 1am, 6 Cambodian migrant workers were caught attempting to illegally enter Thailand.
The 9 Thai immigrants, 3 men and 6 women, were arrested by the Thai police and confessed that they were helped by an online agent to get employment at a casino in Poipet city, who promised them that they would be paid 21 000 Bahts for 6 months seasonal work.
Then, at around 1:00am the same night, the Tapraya district police of Srakeo province, Thailand, arrested 6 Khmer immigrants, 5 men and 1 woman, who illegally attempted to cross the Thai border through a potato farm, in Tap Siem village, Tapraya commune/district in an attempt to go to Nontha Borey to work as construction workers. They each paid 6 000 Bahts to their agent.
The 9 Thai immigrants were transferred to Kork Kyoung district police for further investigation and the 6 Khmer immigrants were deported back to Cambodia for further investigation.

Cambodia News (Banteay Mean Chey Province): On June 29, 2021, the border police No.12 and Praya army force of Thailand arrested 5 illegal Cambodian immigrants, 3 men and 2 women in Top Siam village, Ta Praya commune/district, Srakeo province, Thailand. According to the immigrants, they paid 7,000 Bahts to be in Thailand.
On June 30, 9 more illegal Cambodian immigrants were caught in Mern Sombor village, Ta Praya commune/district, Srakeo province. They were also scammed by a people trafficker.
After the arrest, the Cambodians were all documented by the Thai police, health checked, and then transferred back to Cambodia through the international border gate at Banteay Mean Chey province.
