French Expat, Georges Freddy Thomas, Accused of Theft in Kampot
Re: French Expat, Georges Freddy Thomas, Accused of Theft in Kampot
There is a very good chance Freddy will not leave Cambodia alive as prison here is very bad for the health and even if released may never get his act together to leave.sarran1955 wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 3:08 am Hello,
Thanks for keeping this thread going.
I live in Central France and the house of Thomas George Freddi Michils which is attached to mine is still degrading.
I need to reach a decision and would buy the wreck to save my own house.
He was a thief here and got into all sorts of trouble.
Is it possible to contact or write to the prison?
How long is provisional detention, and how long is the prison term for theft??
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Cordialement,
If I was you I would just deal with the wreck to save your own house, you must have some protection in law against an abandoned building damaging occupied ones?
Take possession of it to prevent further damage to your own home. If possible, do a bit of work on it and rent it out to recover your costs. He might never come back and you get to keep it.
In the UK this is all quite legal and many many people have ended up with property abandoned by owners who never returned. Maybe it is possible in France?

Freddy may as well been detained at the immigration prison waiting to be sent back to France for what we know. A.E.F.C is the association who take care of these things, and for free.

You can contact AEFC through Facebook as well. Easy to find.sarran1955 wrote:Hello,

There’s also a French forum group for Kampot and Kep on Facebook.
Good luck
