Re: King hospitalised or just a rumour?
One that has been circulating, with covid as the catalyst, is for Thais to finally, after many years, bite the bullet and rid itself of all the sex, sin and decadence in Pattaya.
The plan is to make Pattaya a farang retirement and convalescing centre of excellence with top quality medical services, private hospitals and hospices. Funded senior farangs will enjoy high quality western standard care they are accustomed to in a land of smiles and in a tropical setting. This will include 24hr at call nursing services including meals on wheels. This strategy is estimated to provide a significant and sustaining employment boost to the local Thai population.
In conjunction with this aged care strategy, family tourism will also be encouraged so that Pattaya is promoted as the ultimate 'family friendly', tasteful holiday resort destination.. minus the girly bars and sleaze of the past.
These initiatives will enable Pattaya to finally shed it's Vietnam war R&R servicemen and subsequent single man's tourist reputation of the flesh pot of Asia and be replaced with a a truly innovative, contemporary image of the go-to holiday/medical destination in Asia for families and seniors looking for a respectable end in their twilight years.

Sounds optimistic. But who will come to Pattaya then? Those who doesn't like Pattaya are all in Hua Hin. And half of Isaan will starve.clutchcargo wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:23 pmOne that has been circulating, with covid as the catalyst, is for Thais to finally, after many years, bite the bullet and rid itself of all the sex, sin and decadence in Pattaya.

Isaan will be fine. Retired gentlemen in retirement homes will pay handsomely for a high-end weekly service.Chuck Borris wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:40 pmSounds optimistic. Prince Dipangkorn is the heir presumptive to his father and first in line to the throne. However, because of Vajiralongkorn's December 2014 divorce from Srirasmi Suwadee, Dipangkorn's position in the line of succession is uncertain. Technically, Prince Dipangkorn is first in line to the throne. However, as his mother and the king are divorced, he can be replaced if the king has a son with his current wife. In that situation, the new son will be the crown prince and take Prince Dipangkorn’s place as first in line to the throne.
He also has Down Syndrome.
