He was a despicable POS. I remember him turning up in Phnom Penh in about 2005, driving a Range Rover Classic ( a really shit car) like he was the bee's knees. He would sometimes wear what looked like an old school tie as a bandana and sometimes wore black eye shadow? He had this brochure, like a scrap book, of all his great plans to set up the most exclusive brothel in the city, with limo service from the airport and your choice of dream girls. I was only in his bar once, chasing up an advertising bill. He was gross to be around, always making lude comments like "I wouldn't mind bar-fining her myself" about his staff etc. He wouldn't pay his advertising bill, so I mentioned this to the guy waiting on the bill. He was drunk, went up demanding his dues but then got thrown out, so he was really pissed off. This was a guy who held grudges! So he decided to research the guy, and with the help of a then Bangkok based journalist they found out about his sordid past of drugging young women working at his salon. Anyway, all this resulted in people questioning his "charity" and subsequently he went to the Stung Meanchey dump to ask the 15 year old almost destitute garbage picker he was going to "marry" for their engagement ring back. He then tried running to Thailand, and was arrested for not being truthful in his application for a visa. So he spent ages in jail there and was eventually deported here. What a mess.
