Re: UK News, Updates and Discussion
Sounds familiar?
Travellers staying in quarantine hotels in the UK after returning from “red list” countries have complained of “prison-like” conditions, including windows that do not open, a lack of fresh air, exercise and decent food.
The Guardian spoke to nine travellers who are or have recently been in quarantine hotels after returning from countries including Brazil, India, Pakistan and South Africa. They complained of a deterioration in their mental and physical health due to being confined in their bedrooms round the clock and being forced into debt to pay the £1,750 per adult charge for the quarantine period.

I was surprised to read that there were two NHS consultants were among the nine inmates.

A CCJ for Bojo, send the bailiffs in I say,

A CCJ is one thing but lying to get one set aside could amount to attempting to pervert the course of justice and many a politician has falling foul of this spectacularly; Jeffrey Archer... Jonathon Aitken... Chris Huhne.
The Watergate principal applies; sometimes the cover up is more serious than the crime.

Radovan Karadžić to serve rest of sentence in British prison
So, after 5 years in a prison in The Hague, and learning to speak Dutch, he is now coming to the UK and start all over again with the language learning. If he gets sent to Scotland he's going to really struggle.
This transferring of a prisoner internationally is just so the UK can be seen as doing it's 'fair share'. Could this amount to cruel and unusual punishment by making him effectively mute for a period of years until he learns English. I feel a humans rights case coming on.

The 75-year-old was found guilty in 2016 of 10 of the 11 charges he faced at the international criminal tribunal for the former Yugoslavia over his role in the mass killings of civilians in the conflict that tore Bosnia apart more than a quarter of a century ago.
The Foreign Office said on Wednesday it had been agreed that Karadžić should be transferred to a UK prison to serve the rest of his sentence.
Karadžić objected to the transfer on safety grounds, citing the case of the former Serbian general Radislav Krstić, who had his throat cut by Islamic extremists at Wakefield prison in West Yorkshire
