Lockdown of Phnom Penh and Takhmao Extended for One More Week
AKP Phnom Penh, April 26, 2021 --
The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to prolong the lockdown of Phnom Penh capital and Takhmao town of Kandal province for another week, until May 5, to contain and prevent the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic.
The lockdown duration will be further extended or not based on the participation of the people in the lockdown areas and on the developments of COVID-19 spread, underlined a new government’s decision issued this evening.
Moreover, the government announced to divide the lockdown geographical area into three zones: Red, Dark Yellow, and Yellow.
Red zones are areas with serious community spread of COVID-19, while Dark Yellow and Yellow zones with moderate and mild COVID-19 community spread, respectively, it explained, adding that the identification of each area must be made by the decisions of Phnom Penh and Kandal administrations.
In Red zones, people are not allowed to leave their houses unless for essential reasons. Sports activities outside the house are also prohibited. Markets, food shops, including alcoholic beverage sales, and other business activities must be suspended temporarily, except basic social services.
People in Dark Yellow zones must also stay home. The travel, for essential reasons only, is allowed between Dark Yellow and Yellow zones, while the travel across the Red zones or outside Phnom Penh capital and Takhmao town is acceptable with some exceptions only. Besides, occupation and business activities that are not for daily basic needs as well as gatherings are banned. For all authorised businesses and activities, health safety rules must be followed.
For Yellow zones, while schools, entertainment clubs, resorts, cinemas, theatres, museums, fitness centres, etc. are required to close and large gatherings are prohibited, all kinds of travel and businesses can operate as usual. The travel from Yellow zones across Red and Dark Yellow zones or outside Phnom Penh and Takhmao are allowed only for essential reasons. Furthermore, curfew must be imposed in Yellow zones between 08:00 pm and 5:00 am, but with some exceptions, as in Dark Yellow zones.
Competent authorities must accelerate the distribution of relief to vulnerable and poor people, and the supply of foods to other people in the lockdown areas, especially in the Red and Dark Yellow zones.
The identification as well as rules to be applied in each of the three zones must enter into force from April 29.
On the other hand, the government advised the Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination to turn the vaccination campaign into the national one by using all national forces and means so as to speed up the vaccination process for all people of over 18 years old in Phnom Penh capital and large urban areas of Kandal province.

Partial “Red Zone” for Poipet
Map courtesy of Mapit.KH (https://cambodia-covid-restrictions-map.yolasite.com/)
Parts of Poipet city has been placed under a Red Zone after the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration responded to the worsening COVID-19 situation in Banteay Meanchey.
Starting from today, the whole of Sangkat Poipet as well as a part of Sangkat Phsar Kandal, Poipet City will be totally blocked for entry and exit.
70,000 people, including all foreigners who live in the Red Zones will be barred from leaving and nobody will be allowed to enter from the outside.
The move comes after approximately 150 cases were detected in the city since April the 23rd – including Indonesians, Cambodians, Chinese and Thais.
Mass ‘rapid’ testing is continuing in the city amidst fears that this will expose many more cases.
The measures were announced by Mr. Oum Reartrey Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province and will be in place, initially for a period of 2 weeks.

its official
Phnom Penh municipal governor Khuong Sreng released an official map detailing the red, yellow and dark yellow zones within the city under the new lockdown orders for Phnom Penh announced on April 26.
The designation of red, dark yellow and yellow corresponds to areas with high, moderate and low risks of transmission of Covid-19, respectively/quote]

4.30pm, KT and "official" lists had Boeung Tumpun II as yellow and I think every inhabitant was cycling or strolling around, a few hours later we appear to have gone to orange, and BT I seems to have gone from yellow to red.

Re: Whatzup - Breaking Cambodia Covid News - Information on Outbreaks and Lockdowns - New Thread
it looks like some rather upscale boreys in cham country (chbar ampov) are now yellow rather than orange
so this is clearly the correct map
reads more like a demographic map, than a covid map
what a surprise
