Indeed. A large proportion of those testing positive now might have gotten it well over ten day ago.
They have testing capabilities of 3000 tests/day (currently more but they reckon it's not sustainable). At 10-20%, that's large percentage of positives so I would assume the real number out there is much larger (unless their tracing abilities are really good, but at this point I think it's out of control). Will probably take another 10-20 days just to see a drop back down to 100-200/day as a wild guess. Hope you guys are comfy at home...

What's also unsustainable is the bizarre incarceration of "positive cases" who are completely asymptomatic. A waste of everyone's time and resources. Initially a revenue hand out to connected owners of redundant buildings like the Great Duke, Sokha and, now, wedding halls, but now a fiasco as those fill up with people who should be home.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:40 pm Indeed. I suspect many of those trapped and hungry in Red Zone slums would prefer the aircon at Koh Pich, with food and "treatment" so may well try and get infected to get moved.

I actually thought it was one of the only reason you could leave a Red Zone was to go to a test. Assuming I am correct, they had better keep it quiet, or it would be quite a ruse for escape!Phnom Poon wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 1:14 pma cunning planbeerlaodrinker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:48 pm I suspect many of those trapped and hungry in Red Zone slums would prefer the aircon at Koh Pich, with food and "treatment" so may well try and get infected to get moved.

You like to draw a long bow with terms such as 'incarceration' and 'slums'..beerlaodrinker wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:48 pm What's also unsustainable is the bizarre incarceration of "positive cases" who are completely asymptomatic. Positive cases might be asymptomatic but are still infectious and spreaders right?
AFAIK, the Sokha is used for incoming from people overseas who have tested negative but have to wait out their 14 day quarantine. The Great Duke and Koh Pich convention centre are designated as hospitals.
