Re: Why wouldn't you move to Cambodia?
Having read about the extreme danger of pickpockets in Laos, (where I live), I think that website is full of crap...... or https://www.travelsafe-abroad.com/countries/ is full of crap.

So is it medium or extreme?PICKPOCKETS RISK : MEDIUM
There is an extreme threat of petty crime. Pickpockets are practically an everyday occurrence
Also, when renting a bike, be wary of someone pushing you off while you are riding and then taking the bike and riding off.
flooding I can understand but tsunami - not a rarity?NATURAL DISASTERS RISK : MEDIUM
During the monsoon season, which lasts from May to October, there is a risk of flooding, and typhoons and tsunamis are not a rarity either.
So just stay on pub street and you'll be fine! However, traveling beyond the most popular tourist destinations remains unpredictable and risky.

They never mention the $100 bill switcheroo scam in massage parlours, nor even the perennial rumour of ATM's passing out fake $100's (to people who then go into said massage parlours shortly afterwards).
They never mention that any tears in any US$ notes will lead to it being rejected (the scam is someone gave it to you in the first place) so make sure any $'s brought with you are mint condition.
They never mention even if you don't like your meal, or it looks nothing like the picture, you will not a get a refund from any Khmer - this is not the US/UK etc where they are terrified of a bad review.
The same applies for buying meat or purportedly fresh products in a supermarket that is off when you open it at home - tough titty. Same goes with all shoddy goods sold - you are on your own.
There is probably a decent list of 10 tips that would be very useful to visitors, borne out of gritty experience. But the never ask any expats for the advice, these websites never reveal how they obtain their so called knowledge. I suspect they just plagiarise from other publications.
