These People Were Arrested by the Khmer Rouge and Never Seen Again

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

The vast majority of the prisoners at S21 were Khmer Rouge themselves. Caught up in an endless cycle of self examinations, confessions and denunciations. What a hopeless country it was under Pol Pot and his clique. No matter how much you sacrificed for the revolution you were always in line for the chop.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Colourising old photos is a falsification of history
Matt Loughrey has falsely doctored photos from 1970s Cambodia – but all colourisation does that

the guy should seriously re evaluate what he is doing;

Auschwitz Memorial
@AuschwitzMuseum
We fully support @TuolSlengMuseum
. We have approached Matt Loughrey & requested the removal of an animation he made out of a b&w image of Czesława Kwoka from
@Instagram
. Such manipulation of sources is disturbing, painful & disrespectful to the memory of the victims. He refused.

Replying to @AuschwitzMuseum
An update: the animation that used the Auschwitz registration photo of Czesława Kwoka has been removed from his Instagram account.

But still available on CEO - "hidden" by a weaselly spoiler.
Flying in the face of the Toul Sleng museum
the dictates of the Government
all Cambodians
and the disgust expressed by most CEO members.

My guess is that it will always be "available" on CEO, as it will be on other sites who reported about it (except Vice).
My tip: don't look it up again.
No spit intended.
