Earth Auger/ earth drill

Post by daeum_tnaot »

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience buying this machine? And can recommend a good brand or parameters? This is a new machine for us and we have no idea which one is good or to know which is of good quality.

It seems the parameters are the cc of the engine and the size of the Drill.

There’s so much equipment that breaks down easily and is hardly worth the investment. We’d rather have one that is reliable and easy to repair.

A machine breaking down easily is the least of your worries. You should also be concerned about safety when operating a machine like that. Buy one with an established brand name, and get the proper training in how to operate it. You don't want to risk life and limbs. Literally.

Ok thanks, that’s interesting. We looked at them in the shop but didn’t see it running so had no idea it could be that dangerous.

The ones we saw were 52 cc and 63 cc, and the drill has various sizes of like 2, 2.5 and 3. (Not sure what 2, 3 refer to here in terms of the unit, in Khmer “dtuk”) Are we talking about the same kind of machine here?

I bought one many years ago in Stung Treng, it was a 2 stroke machine, well up for the job. Sorry I couldn't tell you the name of manafacture, it would have been a copy, price about $120. Put in 300+ posts 10" diameter, length 2.5 metres too a depth of 1/2 metre.

Well worth the money.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
