the EU spends a third of their budget of about 168 BILLION on agriculture, rural development and fisheries (2020). Money spent to keep the prices of food down. Often the reason why "poor" countries cant export their agricultural products as they are not subsidiarized and therefore produced at a higher cost. In exreme cases we even flood the poor countries whith what we overproduce (like heavily subsidiarized italian tomato paste exported to AFRICA making african local production a money loosing business).
work is for people who cant find truffles

In the lead up to pig eating festivities, a wee live suckling piglet will be easily above $60.

Other times of the year, a weaned piglet would be sold by the kilo, as above.

It's a real shame that the government and the ministry don't support their pig farmers more, at least making way to a Cambodian pork market of their own. There are some good large pig breeds here, giving in return many kilograms of quality meats, and it's something that Thailand and Veitnam lack.
What is the price per kilogram today at market? But has spit roast goes, there are many Cambodians whom pay $14 per kilo of succulent black pork.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
