OD you are becoming positively obsessive about this,we are all aware of your position, there is absolutely no need to respond to each and every comment that is made. quote. If one thinks so poorly of him doing it, doing the same thing is not really a great way to express that.
I'm sure we are all mortified that we fail to measure up to your towering intellect.
The most boring man in the World. Ever!
Re: Khmer440 co-founder Peter Hogan/Keeping_It_Riel Passes A
There is no doubt that if the tables were reversed K-I-R would be chastising lyrical but they are not and it is he who has passed and we that remain, at least for now...(anyone fancy a sweepstake?)
We all know K-I-R had his less than nice side, which was not a small part of his personality but this is not about him. It is about what we, who remain write. Saying more about us than it ever will, about him.
If we continue with this pointless and tit for tat argument, what will we actually achieve? In my mind it will be just to fragment, pointlessly this forum and, in so doing, drive wedges between those of us, who were born of the same twatfunnel.
Most of the first members here came here to escape the ill treatment they received on K440 and specifically at the hands of its then leader - K-I-R Jong Il
Born of such abuse, some, now seem to be turning on each other and creating the environment, where such abuse could be repeated. Can some people not learn from recent history?
By all means continue and hold your head up high, as the victor of a meaningless battle, for we all will, in the end loose the war.
Despite what is written here and there, K440 is improving and going from strength to strength but, lets be honest, CEO has shown a new and respectful, self policing model is not only possible but works in reality. (never included in the syllabus of a Msc, it seems)
This site is run without the need for heavy moderation but relies, instead of a mature and self regulating attitude of it members. Members drawn from the widest possible spectrum of people, with the widest possible range of thoughts, ideas and opinions but for the next few days we need to rise above our small personal battles, to allow family and friends the most hurt free passage though these horrible times, that can be afforded them.
The dust will, in a few days settle and in time we can discuss and debate recent history, in the smallest detail and including every possible perspective. Everyone's opinion with, as ever, be listened to and respected.
We do not ask for you to be gagged, just a little time, for the family and friends to pass by on their own painful journey

Exactly. You go on about modding these forums in this thread? I have been following K440 for 10 years, and i have nothing but respect for what KiR has done with his site. Never met him personally, but this type of comments is bad form.nightmare.believer wrote:You take this opportunity to bitch about how you've been treated? Peter is dead, you silly little man.vladimir wrote:There is no love lost between myself and KiR, but he was not the only mod to selectively delete stuff/refuse right of reply. That is also a trick gavinmac and scobienz resort to as well, the latter using the 'keep the thread on topic' excuse when their buddies start crap and get short shrift. You point out who was stirring, and it's always 'oh, teacher, he started it', while they conveniently ignore the shit-stirrer and leave their post there.
I don't want to derail this thread, but it's interesting to me that the same people who rail against corrupt Khmers wobble when given a little power.
Only met Peter a few times, but he was polite in 'riel' life. RIP

You say you have nothing but respect for what KiR did with his site, but what he did with it is exactly what you're calling "bad form" for other people to do. I get that the mods here want to run things differently and that's cool, but the key word is differently, as KiR showed absolutely no respect for the dead on his own site except when it was his mates who died. That included people who actually had families who cared about them and were reading the threads, unlike KiR who abandoned the only direct living relative he had.

after the last email exchange with OD, Im sure that really each and every forum owner has mental issues, with some major social impact.
perhaps, thats even the precondition what makes them wanting to be a forum owner in the first place.
