The police sure do get a lot of motos, even if the crime had nothing to do with a moto or committed while on a moto. Taken for "processing". Does that mean distribution to families of the police?

What a waste, they should be educated in something that is more meaningful. What to do in empty hotel rooms.

That depends on whether the bike is worth keeping or not. I've been in police yards that are full of rotting confiscated vehicles rotting in ditches. The better ones do get redistributed.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Police Arrest 4 Men and 2 Women in Guesthouse Drug Raid
They way it works is that the police have a monopoly on the drug trade. First order of arrests is people trying to bring in drugs or sell them without being police. Then undercover police find dealers to sell it for them. They supply the dealers till they have managed to buy several motorcycles and phones and then they arrest them a take possession of the phones and motorcycles. Then repeat.
