Gendarme found Dead in Kandal Car Crash

Cambodia News (Kandal): On March 29, 2021, at 4 am, a man was found dead in a car on national road 4, kilometers 43-44, Prek Treng village, Kean Svay district, Kandal.

The victim was identified as Nov Savoeun, a 57-year-old man, Leuk Dek Royal Gendarmerie commander, who drove a Camry car plate no. Kandal 2A-2895. The victim drove the car off the road, and died in the accident.

After the incident, the police went to the scene to examine the body. After the examination, the body was returned to the family for funeral preparation.

UPDATE: Later news says that the gendarme may have had a heart attack and died while driving, which would explain the reason for the accident. This has not yet been confirmed by the medical team.

It's fairly obvious he realized he was having a medical emergency and got off the road before he lost Consciousness, and may have saved other lives in the process.
