Sre Pok Rangers Dismantle Hunter's Camp in Mondulkiri

Cambodia News, (Mondulkiri Province): Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary rangers with the participation of community patrol agencies, and supported by WWF, patrolled together for 4 days from 22 to 25 March 2021 in the protected wildlife zone.

During the patrol operation, park rangers dismantled a group of four male suspects, who had set up a hunting camp at Phnom Long Chhung in the protected area of ​​Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary. The officers found 203 wildlife traps and a gun that was found hidden in a tree trunk.

The ranger team also collected and burned wildlife remains that they discovered at the camp.
The four suspects were "educated" not to commit any more wildlife crimes, and forbidden to enter unauthorized areas in the future.

After the patrol, park rangers inspected 10 locations equipped with automatic cameras, which captured images and activities of wildlife movements.
