Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News,Oddar Meanchey: On March 26, 2020, the people of Oddar Meanchey province expressed their concern over a Thai-Korean truck illegally importing nearly 2 tons of dead chickens, which may be a source of bird virus. They say that the Thais are exporting contaminated chickens to Cambodia, and that relevant Cambodian officials are corrupt and allow truckloads of chicken carcasses to pass the border without any health checks.

Concerned about health and epidemics, the people call on the head of the Royal Government, Samdech Techo HE, to remove inactive and incapacitated officials in Oddar Meanchey.
First: His Excellency Tan Phannara, Royal Government delegate in charge of the General Department of Animal Production and Animal Health.
Second: Mr. Soth Sisok Kheang, Director of Oddar Meanchey Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Third: Mr. Tanh Botta, Chief Veterinarian of Oddar Meanchey Province.

People in Oddar Meanchey province said that without the agreement of the above three powerful persons, the unofficial importation of the dead chickens could not have been possible for so many years. Now the local people are concerned about health and disease, and they do not trust their local officials, so they are calling on the central government for help.

@CEOCambodiaNews , where did that news item come from?

Pretty ballsy of them to publicly name the officials who they are accusing of being corrupt. I like it...

and that relevant Cambodian officials are corrupt
