Cambodia News (Takeo): Takeo royal gendarmerie collaborated with Phnom Penh police and the national royal gendarmerie in the arrests of two suspects for drug trafficking in Somrong district, Takeo, and in Phnom Penh.

Lieutenant La Lai, the commander of Takeo royal gendarmerie, said on March 25, 2021, the anti-drug police cracked down on drug trafficking on March 22, 2021, at 10:20 pm, in Pich Changvar village, Somrong district, Takeo. The police arrested a suspect, Chem Kom, a 27 year old man, with a pack of drugs weighing 25,91 grams and a phone. The suspect confessed that he had bought the drugs from a woman in Sangkat Chom Chao, Khan Porsenchey, Phnom Penh.

As a result of this confession, Lieutenant Nget Heng led the police force in the arrest of another suspect, Heng Chreb, a 31-year-old woman, in a rented house located in Khan Porsenchey, Phnom Penh. The police confiscated 5 packs of drugs weighing 500 grams and a motorbike.
The police then conducted a full search of the suspect's house and found 5 big packs of drugs inside packets of Chinese tea which weighed 1 kilo each. The woman suspect admitted that those drugs belonged to her.

The two suspects and the evidence were sent to the specialist police department of Takeo royal gendarmerie for case preparation following the legal procedure.

Can't these dumbass methamphetamine suppliers read or watch the news that the old Chinese tea trick doesn't necessarily work anymore?

They really do need to diversify to Earl Grey or something a little more upmarket, this Chinese tea thing is past a joke

It's baffling they could put so much on the line and make no effort to conceal it.

I know it is a long running joke between all of us on the forum, but, a question about concealing the drug, using a different branded package. But to be honest when the police arrive, suspicion of the people harbouring kilos of illegal drugs, the only thing that would help those people would be having no drugs at all.

I have a theory. :ugeek:
What if the Chinese tea packaging is not for the cops, but for the buyers to know the provenance of the meth ? It's always the same brand of tea, so that buyers can see that it's from the same supplier. A recognised brand name or trademark. (ICE guaranteed from the Myanmar 'syndicate', not something cooked up locally in the backyard.)

They would do better to just stamp it then like all other drug operations.

Probably true, like the Double UO Globe heroin they've been selling for 50 years or so.

Hmm, but wouldn't that provide opportunity for the next favourite Chinese business model; counterfeiting?

Quote - As a result of this confession, Lieutenant Nget Heng led the police force in the arrest of another suspect, Heng Chreb, a 31-year-old woman, in a rented house located in Khan Porsenchey, Phnom Penh. The police confiscated 5 packs of drugs weighing 500 grams and a motorbike.

Next you would think would be the confession of that last person who would lead the authorities to an even bigger find of illegal drugs. But I doubt that will be the case.
