Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey): The owner of a house, who was absent, busy visiting his mother in Mongkul Borei district, was devastated to find the house completely engulfed in flames on his return, at 4 pm, March 24, 2021, in Kbal Spean Village, Banteay Meanchey Province.


The house owner went to Mongkul Borei district, Banteay Meanchey province to see his old mother, and handed over the house to his 49-year-old son, Oeur Sam Ath, with his nephew who was still studying.

On the day of the incident, Oeur Sam Ath was not at home, leaving his nephew Nou Mano to look after the house on March 24. Nou Mano left the building and locked the door, but he did not turn off the electricity.

Brigadier General Bun Pheng, Deputy Commissioner for Explosive Ordnance Management, confirmed that the fire was caused by the nephew of the house when he left the house and did not close the box, causing an electric fire.

Neighbors then saw the fire and called for a water truck, but when they arrived, the gate was locked so there was a delay in the rescue operation. However, in the end, after three vehicles were used to spray water to put out the fire and prevent the fire from spreading to the neighbor's house, there were no casualties.
