Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News, (Kampong Thom): On March 14, 2021 at 4:30 pm at Veal Kork, Kampob Ambel village, Kampong Thom province, anti-drug police arrested two suspects for drug trafficking: a man and his mother.

The police intervened in a drug deal that was taking place at the above location. The male suspect fled on a motorcycle with the drugs, then the police chased him. The desperado then jumped off the motorcycle and fired two shots, so the police returned fire and shot the suspect in the right thigh and arrested him.

Following this first arrest, the police continued the procedure to arrest another suspect, who was the suspect's biological mother (as co-conspirator).
The arrested suspects are identified as Phalla Tong, a 29-year-old man living in Anlong Thmor village, Boeung Lvea commune, Santuk district, Kampong Thom province (who is being treated for his injuries at a Phnom Penh hospital) and Tith Sao, a 58-year-old female resident of Koki Thom village, Kampong Thom province, was kept for questioning.
