Backpackers, Travelers and other Toursists

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

hmmm i used a back pack for over 10 years of travel
and to add to that a bicycle for 18 months thru India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia

To me a tourist is on Holiday
a traveler quit his /her job and left but went back
a vagabond merely keeps going, never looking back
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I hear that we've just started this years tourist season.

Does that mean we can start shooting them now?

I feel you've left out a few, like this one:

Touristus orion sinae (alt: Touristus sinae)
The Golden Mess, a.k.a Chinese Asian Tourists: (Touristus orion sinae)
Easily identified in most areas by the same herding behaviour as most members of Touristus orion exhibit. Moving in large groups, often against the normal flow of pedestrian traffic or at incredibly slow paces while blocking regular traffic from passing them with their large mas. But while similar in this regard to many other species of Touristus orion, telltale markers can often still be found to distinguish the sinae subspecies. The most notable visual cue will be a large number of the herd will be seen plumed with large green plastic visors, these are almost always females and most notably those beyond the typical mating age. Behavioural indicators will commonly involve excessive disregard for social norms of the other species of Touristus they encounter (often perceived by these Touristus as rudeness), a physical inability to dispose waste products such as food wrappings and used beverage containers in appropriate waste deposit vessels, and complete lack of expressions of joy/happiness in nearly all situations.
