THE LAST CYCLO (Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🇰🇭)
Re: THE LAST CYCLO (Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🇰🇭)
That's reasonable depending on the condition. Are the ride-able at those prices ?timmydownawell wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 3:29 pm I asked how much cyclos cost to buy, at the 'cyclo cemetery' near Wat Koh. $300-600 depending on condition. Surprisingly high. Or maybe that's the barang price.

Re: THE LAST CYCLO (Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🇰🇭)
I thought they'd be rather cheaper (perhaps $100-150) given how old most of them are, and - let's face it - there's not much demand for them. The guys on St 158 didn't speak English and put me on the phone to someone who did, and I just asked him for a ballpark price. Like anything it would be negotiable ofc.beaker wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:59 pmThat's reasonable depending on the condition. It would be fun to convert one to electric as an around town transporter for kids and grocery runs. I converted my mt. bike and my wifes bike to electric so if anyone would like to convert a cyclo let my know if I could help.timmydownawell wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 6:08 amI thought they'd be rather cheaper (perhaps $100-150) given how old most of them are, and - let's face it - there's not much demand for them. I used to have an electric scooter in Sydney (the kind you stand on) and one day I was about to pass an old bloke who took one look at me and said "you lazy bugger!" lol I can just just imagine the locals seeing you on an electric cyclo and thinking "fucking lazy barang".

No, not really, since I am more agile on my bike and passing through faster than the motos I've never got anything but thumbs up. I have a throttle as well as pedal assist so I can pedal with power too so it seems like a normal bike except my effort is much less.timmydownawell wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 8:37 amI used to have an electric scooter in Sydney (the kind you stand on) and one day I was about to pass an old bloke who took one look at me and said "you lazy bugger!" lol I can just just imagine the locals seeing you on an electric cyclo and thinking "fucking lazy barang".
