February 20, 2021, Covid Community Outbreak (Koh Pich and Beyond)

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

i don't understand the expression 'chinese nationals'
it's not as though they're ethnically diverse
they're nearly all han
but in any case, they're all just 'chinese'

you never see the phrase 'american nationals', which would perhaps be more useful

It's an expression used to differentiate Chinese who were actually born in China from those who have Chinese ethnicity but have probably never actually been in China. There are ethnically Chinese people who have lived and traded in this region for centuries. They haven't got much in common with these mainlanders who have turned up in recent years.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Most Chinese-Cambodians have stayed amongst themselves ever since their ancestors came here and preserved their Chinese heritage making them quite different from the Khmer both in looks and culture

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE (Pic. 1) makes a special statement to his compatriots on the new community outbreak of COVID-19 (Feb. 20 Community Event), from his residence in Takhmao town, Kandal province.

HE must have a very loud voice to be heard at the end of that thing.
He’s ( HE ) has to have a Bluetooth speaker for that guy at the end who seems to be straining his ears 👂

You are so right, the Glenfiddich 12, 15 and 18, the Macallan 12, the Oban 14, the Dewar's 12, sigh...
