Two Garages Blaze Over the Weekend

Two fires burned down two gas stations over the weekend; one in Tbong Khmum on 21 February, and the other in Phnom Penh on February 19.

Cambodia News, (Tbong Khmum): At about 7:35 am on February 21, 2021 in Soung district, Tbong Khmom province, a fire burnt down a petrol station in Soung city, and completely destroyed it.

According to the Soung City Police Department, the gas station is owned by Tong Huy and his wife, and it was caused by an electrical short circuit.

After receiving this information, General Mon Makara, the provincial police officer led the forces directly to cooperate with the governor of Soung City, Mr. Naron, down to intervene for 2 hours, extinguishing the blaze at about 9: 30 am.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On February 19, 2021, at 11:20 pm, a garage caught on fire on Chom Chao boulevard, Sangkat Chom Chao, Khan Porsenchey, Phnom Penh. The owner of the garage was identified as Chomroeun, 45 years old, a mechanic.

Before the incident, the locals saw flames coming out from the garage, so they called the police immediately. The police and the locals helped to put out the fire using 5 firetrucks. The fire burned 3 vehicles, but there nobody was injured.
